About
Kid Angles: The Early Education School offers an emergent, play-based education where play and learning are treated as a process rather than a product. The program uses open-ended activities and intentionally created spaces that spark natural curiosity, with environments set up to act as “The Third Teacher.” Classrooms include The Monkey House, Butterfly Bungalow, The Zoo Class, The Barnyard, and The Meadow, each organized by approximate age ranges and focus areas.
• Ages: 0–5 years old
• Schedule: Kid Angles operates Monday–Friday from 7am–5:30pm; the office is open Monday–Friday from 9am–5pm
The Monkey House serves infants from approximately 6 weeks to 15 months in their own house within the Kid Angles campus. The Butterfly Bungalow is an open concept space for toddlers approximately 15–30 months old. The Zoo Class includes children from 2 years old through early 3s and focuses primarily on developing social skills and potty training. The Barnyard is for children 3–4 years old who are fully potty trained and focuses on developing a routine and exploring the world. The Meadow serves children ages 4–5 in a Pre-Kindergarten setting with a focus on developing a deep love for learning and strong conflict resolution.
Kid Angles states that it is a place where families can feel comfortable knowing that their child is safe, happy, and snuggled while receiving a quality emergent, play-based education. The program describes its child care as “the difference between PLAY and babysitting.” Kid Angles believes children are independent, curious, and competent, and describes children as little researchers who question everything, develop deeper understanding, make predictions, and communicate their discoveries through “100 languages.” The program explains that the “100 Languages of Children” refers to the many ways young children communicate their thoughts, questions, and understandings of the world around them. Kid Angles describes its practices as play-based and Reggio Emilia inspired, with environments created to be The Third Teacher.
The program describes its learning process as involving children, educators, families, and the community, with provocations offered in an intentional way based on observations collected by educators and families. A parent testimonial from K. Stein states that Kid Angles encourages learning through playing and interacting with others, teaches that getting messy is okay, and is highly recommended to other families.
