About

Meridian Music School Music Lessons and Youth Theater offers music lessons, youth theater productions, community theater shows, an assessment class, recitals, and events. The program includes a no obligation, no commitment assessment class where no instrument is needed, and lessons are customized to unlock each student’s unique creativity. Youth theater activities include stage productions that are part of a broader schedule of 6 to 8 shows each year featuring multiple theater companies and local playwrights’ original plays.

Music lessons at Meridian Music School Music Lessons and Youth Theater are designed by professionally trained, highly experienced teachers, and youth theater productions are guided by talented professional theater directors. The program describes its mission as inviting students to embark on a transformative musical journey with customized lessons tailored to unlock their unique creativity and guide them along their musical journey. The organization highlights that it operates as one school with two names and four locations, and notes that Meridian Music School absorbed the music lesson portion of Carmel Music Center in 2025.

The program’s history includes the founding of Meridian Music Steinway showroom and music school in Indianapolis in 1988, the founding of Ji-Eun Lee Music Academy in Fishers, Indiana in 2004, and the relocation of Meridian Music to Carmel, Indiana in 2005. In 2010, Ji-Eun Lee Music Academy moved to a new location and opened a 170 seat black box theater called The Switch Theatre. In 2015, Meridian Music formed Meridian Music School, moved the school to a standalone location, and opened a 60 seat recital hall called Goodwin Hall. In 2021, Ji-Eun Lee Music Academy partnered with The Classical Academy to offer youth theater productions at their school. In 2023, Ji-Eun Lee Music Academy acquired Meridian Music School, and Meridian Music School partnered with Immaculate Heart of Mary to offer music and performing arts classes at their school.

The program states that youth theater provides an exciting and creative environment where kids can unleash their imagination, make lasting friendships, and experience the joy of performing on stage. It supports community theater and the arts by hosting 6 to 8 engaging shows each year, featuring productions from multiple theater companies and original plays by local playwrights.
