Swim Lessons is offered as part of the Swim Lessons program at the Monon Community Center. Participants have access to a lap pool as part of this program.

Founded in 1991, Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation (CCPR) was established through an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between the City of Carmel and Clay Township in Indiana. Its mission is to be a steward of a healthy community by providing transformative experiences. The organization’s leadership team includes Michael Klitzing, CPRE Executive Director/CEO; Kurtis Baumgartner, CPRE Assistant Director/COO; Eric Mehl, CPRP Administration & Planning Director; Trudy Coler Marketing & Communications Director; Michael Allen, CPRP Parks & Natural Resources Director; Michael Normand, CPRP Recreation & Facilities Director; Claudine Sutton, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, IPMA-SC Human Resources Director; and Jennifer Brown, Extended School Enrichment/Summer Camp Series Director. Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation has received multiple recognitions, including the National Gold Medal Award and CAPRA accreditation in 2014, a second consecutive Gold Medal for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management in 2020, the Clark Ketchum Award for conservation efforts in 2021, and American Camp Association accreditation for its Summer Camp Series in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, CCPR was awarded reaccreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA). Central Park, part of the system, became the first park in Indiana to be certified by the Indiana Wildlife Federation as wildlife friendly, making Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation the first wildlife friendly certified park system in the state.
