About

Cultured Kids Club Summer Camp offers Spanish, French, and Chinese language programs that use Language In Action® total immersion foreign language activities. Summer Camps are designed to teach children both the language and the cultures of five different native-speaking countries through specific activities such as dancing the Flamenco and learning what an Alpine marmot is. Camp activities use fun and engaging age-appropriate tasks and include between-classroom learning with practice sheets, Quizlet games, cartoons, YouTube videos, and suggested tablet and phone apps.

• Ages: 5–12 years old

Cultured Kids Club Summer Camp is part of a full immersion language program for children that also includes community center programs, after-school programs, Parent & Tot classes, Pre-K Explorers classes, online LIVE Zoom CKC Language Center programs, and private one-on-one language learning lessons. Classes are structured toward language proficiency and the student’s age, are categorized by age and proficiency level, and are designed to educate and support children at their individual level using six Language In Action® proficiency levels that progress from simple verbal greetings to advanced writing such as a paper about a summer vacation. Class sizes are small, with 6–8 children, and all classes are structured to supply students with everyday social interaction and common communication topics, with all registered students and families receiving access to a Student Corner webpage with extra learning materials.

Teachers at Cultured Kids Club have native pronunciation and communication skills, are CPR and First Aid certified, are up-to-date on FBI and BCI background checks, have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with early education experience, are trained and proficient in Total Immersion and Total Response teaching methods, and are experienced in administering Language In Action® classes at every age and skill level. Cultured Kids Club only hires teachers with teaching experience and with native or fluent communication skills, and describes its native-speaking or fluent teachers as the “crème de la crème” of language educators. The Language In Action® total immersion foreign language programs are described as award-winning, and the Language In Action® curriculum aligns with ACTFL standards.

Cultured Kids Club has been in operation since 2008. Its stated goal is to provide children the advanced language skills necessary to achieve native-level communication in reading, writing, and verbal pronunciation for a lifetime of opportunity in education, employment, and world adventure. The organization also offers Spanish, French, and Chinese classes in local community recreation centers and provides after-school programs in elementary, middle, and private schools.

One parent shared, “We’ve been coming to Spanish class for our 3 year old since he was 1 1/2. It’s a great place to be around other toddlers, learn and enrich his mind with new ideas and topics every week. We’re planning on joining the advanced pre-k class!” — Brittany Y.
