Emler Swim School has been teaching families to swim for 50 years and has been trusted by families since 1975, starting when Jan Emler began teaching swim lessons in a backyard pool. The program now includes a nationwide network of 35+ Emler Swim Schools and 14 partner swim schools, with 30+ locations. Its stated mission is to make every child feel safe, confident, strong and loved in its pools.

Certified instructors at Emler Swim School complete 30+ hours of training before they teach a class, including child development, safety protocols, and real in-water scenarios, and they receive continued coaching. The program uses a SwimSure 11-level curriculum with 100+ developmental milestones and a dual-safety foundation that teaches Jump-Turn-Swim and Roll-to-Backfloat in all levels, and every class begins with a SwimSure safety pledge. Lessons start at 2 months old, use low student-to-teacher ratios of 4:1, 6:1, or 10:1 depending on the class, and follow a hands-on approach without floaties or puddle jumpers. Families can access 12 free make-up lessons, free trial lessons, and sibling and multi-class discounts.

Emler Swim School reports over 100 million lessons taught, over 15,000 five-star parent reviews, and 16,000+ 5-star reviews, and its curriculum is described as SwimSure, the gold standard in learn-to-swim education. The program is backed by Olympic medalist Amanda Beard and is part of the Emler Swim & Gym network expanding into gymnastics schools. It partners or aligns with Every Child a Swimmer, Miss Tristan Foundation, Hope Floats Foundation, Safe Kids Worldwide, Kinetic Kids, Colin’s Hope, and the Central Texas Water Safety Coalition.
