St. Paul Lutheran Preschool & Early Childhood Ministry states that its purpose is to reach out with Christ’s love to serve children and their families and to educate children and families through the love and teaching of Jesus Christ. The program describes a commitment to Christian education by identifying spiritual, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs through age-appropriate learning and interactive play. It is an accredited Early Childhood Ministry that uses the Indiana District Early Childhood Curriculum, and its curriculum standards line up with the Indiana State Standards and include religious instruction from the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.
The program notes a philosophy based on Proverbs 22:6 and a commitment to nurture children’s spiritual growth and their love of learning. Class sizes are small, with a 3-year-old Lambs Class ratio of 2 teachers to 14 students and a 4-year-old Doves Class ratio of 2 teachers to 16 students, and both classes require children to be potty trained. The staff consists of degreed teachers with many years of experience, and the program describes its environment and curriculum as warm, Christian, and developmentally appropriate.
St. Paul Lutheran Preschool & Early Childhood Ministry is part of St. Paul Lutheran Church & Early Childhood Ministry, which offers Sunday worship services with Communion, Sunday School and Bible study for all ages, adult Bible studies, homeschool religion classes, and small group handbells on specific days and times. The church and ministry also share radio and media connections through a Sunday Radio Service and Lutheran Hour on WYGS 91.1 and daily devotions from Lutheran Hour Ministries.
