FAST Tiger Learn-to-Swim & Stroke School (Swim Lessons) offers swim lessons through the FAST Tiger Learn-to-Swim Program (Levels 1–4) and the FAST Tiger Stroke School (Levels 5–6). The program includes instruction that ranges from beginning learn-to-swim levels to more advanced stroke-focused levels.
• Ages: 3–14 years old
Founded in 2006, Fishers Area Swimming Tigers operates this program as part of a 501(c)(3) organization. The mission of the program is to teach children and young adults superior swimming in a safe and supportive community. Coach Garland Wilson is part of the leadership team. FAST has been recognized as one of Indiana’s premier swim clubs, with results that include 3rd place finishes in both short course and long course state meets in its third year, 2nd place at the 2010 Indiana Age Group Short Course State Championships, and a state title at the 2010 Long Course Championships, and it consistently ranks in the top three at the Indiana State Age Group Championships. The program offers a comprehensive range of swim lessons from Levels 1–4 in the FAST Tiger Learn-to-Swim Program through Levels 5–6 in the FAST Tiger Stroke School, with a focus on long-term athlete development. It creates a fun, friendly, and safe environment for growth and is described as more than just a swim team, developing positive, healthy, and responsible relationships. The program provides a fun and rewarding experience for youth of all ages and abilities in a wholesome and fun atmosphere that brings out the best in each person both in and out of the pool. The team holds several social events, team trips, and outings. Age group swimming in this program teaches time management, self discipline, and healthy fitness habits, and FAST teaches the ideals of integrity, respect, and sportsmanship, along with proper stroke technique and the values of effort and commitment. Everyone has an individual and team role with the FAST Tigers, from the beginning FAST participant to the USA National Team member. Participants enter the building through Door FH6, and the natatorium is on the right.
