Fort Wayne Community Schools Pre-K Programs

Fort Wayne Community Schools Pre-K Programs offers full-day and half-day pre-K programs. Full-day programs run from 8:50 AM to 3:30 PM, and half-day programs run from 8:50 AM to 11:30 AM or from 12:50 PM to 3:30 PM. The program also includes special education services for qualifying children ages 3 to 5 and Bunche Montessori Early Childhood for children ages 3 to 6.

• On My Way Pre-K — Child must be 4 but not yet 5 years old by Aug. 1, 2026

The district is fully accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and has a Level 4 Paths to Quality rating. Bunche Montessori Early Childhood has been accredited with the American Montessori Society since 2003.

Applications for pre-K start in March for the following school year. Acceptance is based on age, home address and space available at the location. FWCS accepts On My Way Pre-K grants in each of the Title I pre-K programs. Families must apply through the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration and must meet eligibility requirements. Enrollment in magnet schools is through the lottery process. Before & after care services vary from school to school.
