Miss Polly's Music Class is an early childhood music and movement program where children take part in steady beat awareness, pitch awareness, instrument play, rhythm and tonal repeats, and other musical activities. Classes also include language and socialization activities, fine and gross motor movement, listening, singing, and bonding activities.
• Ages: 0–4 years old
Miss Polly's Music Class uses the award-winning The Music Class curriculum in all class sessions across its Franklin, Columbus, and Indianapolis locations. The program’s stated mission is to offer high-energy and fabulously-fun musical activities that enhance the growth and development of the young child, while fostering a warm and welcoming environment for children and their caregivers and cultivating a safe and fun space for children to learn and grow. Miss Polly's Music Class, LLC opened its doors in 2008, and Miss Polly (Polly Martin Jones) is in her 18th year of owning and operating the program. Families have the option to enroll or schedule a free trial class.
The teaching team includes Miss Christina, who has a Bachelor of Science in Vocal Performance and Theatre from Indiana University; Miss Emma, who studied Vocal Music with minors in Theatre and Quantitative Methods at Franklin College; Miss Haley, who has an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University; Miss Maddie, who has an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Indiana University Bloomington; and Miss Polly, who has a Bachelors in Music Education/Voice and a Masters in Ed Administration from Butler University. Miss Haley has lived in Columbus her whole life and is providing this class in her home community, and Miss Maddie and her husband moved to Columbus after college and have grown to love the area and the people in it.
