Freedom Springs Swim Lessons and Aquatic Programs offers group swim lessons, parent-child swim lessons, 1-on-1 private swim lessons, junior lifeguarding, water aerobics, Latin dancing, Aqua Zumba, lap swim, Aqua Walk, and scuba. Group Swim Lessons use a five-level progression that focuses on swimming and water safety skills. Parent-Child Swim Lessons are described as a “Mommy and Me” option intended for infants, toddlers and adults, where infants and toddlers become more comfortable in, on and around water and parents learn how to hold and handle them and learn safe water practices.
• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: Group and Parent-Child Swim Lessons meet in eight 30-minute classes in June and July, Monday–Thursday with morning and evening options; private lessons meet in six 45-minute classes with June/July scheduling by contact and two August options; junior lifeguarding meets three mornings a week in a four-week class; fitness and dance classes, lap swim, Aqua Walk, and scuba meet on set weekday or Saturday time blocks.

Group Swim Lessons and Parent-Child Swim Lessons each consist of eight 30-minute classes, with sessions offered June 1–11, June 15–25, June 29–July 9, and July 13–23, Monday–Thursday, with morning classes from 9:30–10:00 a.m. and 10:15–10:45 a.m. and evening classes from 6:45–7:15 p.m. and 7:30–8:00 p.m. For these two lesson types, makeup classes are held if classes are canceled due to weather, but classes that are missed and not canceled are not made up. Private swim lessons are available with limited spots each month and include six 45-minute sessions, with June and July lessons scheduled after the participant is contacted, and August options running Aug. 3–26 on Mondays and Wednesdays or Aug. 4–27 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00–5:45 p.m.
Junior Lifeguarding is a four-week class that meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:15–11:15 a.m. Water Aerobics classes are 1 hour long and meet Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00–10:00 a.m. Latin Dancing is a 1-hour, high-energy, low-impact dance class with a Latin flare. Aqua Zumba is a 1-hour, high-energy, low-impact dance class that meets Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00–10:00 a.m.
Lap Swim is available Monday–Friday from 7:00–11:00 a.m., with six lanes open from 7:00–11:00 a.m. and two lanes open from 8:00–11:00 a.m. Aqua Walk is a 2-hour block Monday–Friday from 9:00–11:00 a.m. and involves walking against the current in the lazy river. Water aerobics, Aqua Walk and lap swimming are described as low-impact ways to achieve fitness and build better health. No registration is required for Water Aerobics, Latin Dancing, Aqua Zumba, Lap Swim, or Aqua Walk, but class sizes are limited.
Scuba is a 3-hour session each Saturday from 8:00–11:00 a.m., is associated with PADI Open Water Diver certification, and is not offered for the 2026 season and will return in 2027. Scuba training is led by certified PADI scuba instructor Paul Burris with Sonny Side of Scuba. To enroll in scuba, participants must be at least 10 years old, be in good physical health with a diving Medical Form completed before the first pool session, and be able to swim 200 yards in a bathing suit or 300 yards with mask, fins and snorkel; divers under age 15 receive Junior Diver certification. As a PADI Open Water Diver, a participant is a certified entry-level diver able to rent dive gear, get air fills and dive anywhere in the world in conditions that are the same or better than those used in training.
Freedom Springs states that swimming lessons are a life skill and an investment in safety, and that water aerobics, Aqua Walk and lap swimming are low-impact ways to achieve fitness and build better health.
