Choi Martial Arts Academy offers Tae Kwon Do through Adult Martial Arts Classes, Children’s Martial Arts Classes, Family Martial Arts Classes, and Little Tigers Martial Arts Classes. The program also offers Kid’s Martial Arts Camps and an After School Martial Arts Program that includes Tae Kwon Do as a core activity.

• Schedule: Kids Martial Arts Camps run as full-day camps when local schools close for long breaks in the Summer, Fall, and Spring; Kids Martial Arts Camps are not offered during Winter Break.
Choi Martial Arts Academy offers an After School Program with pick-up from the child’s school, where students receive homework help in a classroom supervised by a real schoolteacher. Adults, children, and families are invited to try one lesson for free, and instruction is described as authentic Korean instruction in a family atmosphere.
Choi Martial Arts Academy is the oldest Taekwondo school in the state of Indiana and has been in the same location on Indy’s Southside for over 55 years. Grandmaster Min H. Choi, a 9th Degree Black Belt, established the first Tae Kwon Do school in the state of Indiana in 1971 and has been teaching Tae Kwon Do for over 55 years in Indianapolis and over 60 years total, including his time as an instructor in Korea and as a ROK soldier. In 1973, he was recognized by the Indiana Association of Chiefs of Police for training police officers and physical education instructors for the Indiana Police Department Training Academy.
Current students describe Tae Kwon Do at Choi Martial Arts Academy as helping them stay in shape physically and mentally, offering a challenge each time they come, and allowing them to keep centered mentally, relieve daily stress, and build self-confidence. One student reports that after 20 years it has become part of their life and has given them pleasure, focus, discipline, and self-confidence. Another student states that Tae Kwon Do at this academy offers a fantastic opportunity for personal growth physically and mentally, develops respect for others, and builds self-discipline that translates to many aspects of life.
