Edgewood Preschool Cooperative

Edgewood Preschool Cooperative offers daily chances for children to create, sing, observe, move, discuss, read, and play independently and cooperatively. Children take part in exploration, creativity, questions, discovery, stories, imaginary play, singing, sorting, matching, planning, sequencing, estimating, and measuring. Activities also include working with letters, numbers, shapes, sizes, colors, the sounds of rhymes, the passage of time, and word opposites, as well as reading books, telling stories, sharing, singing songs, visiting interesting places, cooking adventures, and science experiments.

Edgewood Preschool Cooperative is a non-profit, parent-participation preschool. It offers kindergarten-readiness programs for children ages 2 to 5 years. The program describes its environment as a child-sized world based on a freedom to create, sing, observe, move, discuss, read, and play independently and cooperatively. Its stated mission is: “We work at keeping learning active and fun! We CREATE, MOVE, SING, DISCUSS, OBSERVE, READ, and PLAY every day!” Tours must be scheduled in advance.

Edgewood Preschool Cooperative was established in 1962. It is affiliated with the Indiana Council of Preschool Cooperatives and with Parent Cooperative Preschools International.
