Korea Taekwondo Academy Northwest has served the Indianapolis community since 1994, and the original Korea Taekwondo Academy was opened in 1974. The mission of the program is to build a strong, supportive environment for kids and families to train, where students can learn competitive Taekwondo or focus on self-defense training and work on focus, discipline, humility, courtesy, and respect. The program states that it strives to help students build up their confidence not just in Taekwondo, and that younger students are encouraged to grow academically and in their behavior at school and at home.
Parent testimonials describe positive experiences with the instructors and program. One parent, Marcellus Martin, said, “I cannot say enough about my son‘s experience with Master Cottee. He encouraged and pushed him to limits I’m sure that he was not aware that He could go.” Another parent, Rachelle Swan, said, “Positive affirmation from a caring adult in a child’s life is priceless. And with KTA, my kids get this with the side-benefit of working hard in a challenging sport.” A third parent, J Howerton, said, “Our children have been coming to Taekwondo Academy around 1 year and they love it! They have gained confidence and learned so much in a small amount of time.”
