About
Soccer Shots is a children’s soccer program where kids play soccer through fun games, team competitions, and other activities on the field. The program focuses on age-appropriate soccer skills and covers fundamental soccer principles such as using feet, dribbling, passing, shooting, and learning basic rules of the game. As children progress, the program also includes competitive play that builds on these basic soccer skills.
• Ages: 18 months–8 years old
Soccer Shots offers three program types: MINI for toddlers, CLASSIC for preschoolers, and PREMIER for school-age children. MINI introduces children to fundamental soccer principles through songs, fun games, and positive reinforcement. CLASSIC uses creative and imaginative games and highlights a positive character trait each session, such as respect, teamwork, and appreciation. PREMIER uses a curriculum for school-age children that builds on skills and introduces competitive play. The curriculum is expert-approved, aligns with early childhood education standards, and is created under the guidance of childhood education specialists, professional soccer players, and experienced and licensed soccer coaches.
Every Soccer Shots coach must complete a comprehensive training program to receive certification. All coaches are trained in the use of developmentally appropriate techniques, are routinely evaluated, and undergo ongoing training. Soccer Shots partners with local childcare centers, preschools, elementary schools, and other organizations to bring soccer to children across North America.
Soccer Shots was formed in 1997. In 2005, it began franchising and opened its first four franchises in Ohio, Delaware, Florida, and Pennsylvania. Founding partners are Jeremy Sorzano and Jason Webb, and in May 2009, Justin Bredeman became the third partner. From its beginnings, Soccer Shots has grown to over 300 territories across 43 states and 2 Canadian provinces, with over 560,000 enrollments in 2023. Soccer Shots Franchising, LLC is based in central Pennsylvania, just east of Harrisburg.
The program’s stated mission is to positively impact children’s lives as the premier children’s soccer experience. Soccer Shots is consistently recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as the #1 Children’s Fitness Franchise in the U.S. Through partnerships with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, Nike, and other organizations, Soccer Shots aims to impact children and communities across the U.S. and the world. Soccer Shots is described as the most trusted and engaging children’s soccer program for ages 18 months to 8 years and is positioned as a best-in-class children’s soccer program with a focus on character development.
Parents have shared feedback about their experiences with Soccer Shots. One parent from Kalamazoo, MI, described watching a daughter move from holding a hand to running to the coach, while learning soccer skills, taking turns, independence, and how to cheer for others. A parent from Phoenix, AZ, said their instructor was great and that they signed up for the summer season. A parent from Dallas, Texas, reported seeing growth in a daughter over the months in the program. Another parent from San Diego, CA, noted that after doing a different program, they appreciated how organized Soccer Shots was and how well the coaches kept kids engaged.
