Soccer Shots introduces children to soccer through age-appropriate soccer skills that include dribbling, passing, shooting, and competitive play. The program takes place in a safe environment called Soccer Island, where coaches lead soccer activities using developmentally appropriate techniques.
• Ages: 18 months–8 years old
Soccer Shots states its mission as aiming to positively impact children’s lives as the premier children’s soccer experience. The curriculum is expert-designed, developmentally appropriate, and aligns with early childhood education standards, with an emphasis on character development and skill building. The program includes MINI (Toddler), CLASSIC (Preschool), and PREMIER (School-Age) options, which use songs, fun games, creative and imaginative games, and team competitions while focusing on basic soccer skills and positive character traits such as respect, teamwork, and appreciation.
Every Soccer Shots coach must complete a comprehensive training program to receive certification, is trained in the use of developmentally appropriate techniques, and is routinely evaluated and given ongoing training. Coaches are selected based on their ability to coach soccer and their ability to engage and inspire children. Soccer Shots provides proactive communication of cancellations due to weather or other circumstances and emphasizes timely, responsive communication.
Soccer Shots was formed in 1997 and began franchising in 2005, opening its first four franchises in Ohio, Delaware, Florida, and Pennsylvania. Founding partners are Jeremy Sorzano and Jason Webb, and in May 2009, Justin Bredeman became the third Soccer Shots partner. From its beginnings, Soccer Shots has grown to over 300 territories across 43 states and 2 Canadian provinces, with over 560,000 enrollments in Soccer Shots programming in 2023. Soccer Shots Franchising, LLC is based in central Pennsylvania, just east of Harrisburg.
