Swim Lessons is a program where children take swim lessons as part of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis. The program is part of a larger set of activities that also includes a youth recreational swim team program and water specialty classes such as competitive swimming, triathlon training, fit float, and water fitness.

• Ages: 0–17 years old

For over 150 years, the YMCA has helped people of all ages become strong, confident swimmers, and 1 million children learn to swim at the Y each year. Swim lessons at the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis are described as instilling confidence and saving lives. The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and serves more than 200,000 people from all walks of life. Its mission is “Putting Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.” The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis provides over $8 million in scholarships, program subsidies and underwritten programs in low-income communities and works to address child welfare, employment, substance abuse, housing and education issues. The YMCA in Central Indiana traces its beginning back to 1854.
