Tutored by Teachers offers personalized virtual instruction led by live, U.S.-certified teachers in small groups of three or fewer students. The program includes Virtual Intervention with targeted, high-dosage tutoring aligned to Math and ELA standards, Tutoring for All with additional instructional hours in flexible formats, and a Summer Academy with a 20-day Math and ELA sequence. Students can also participate in Saturday School, bilingual/ELL support, SAT/ACT test prep, and extended hours with parent opt-in, with instruction delivered through live, synchronous, video-based sessions using standards-aligned curriculum.

Tutored by Teachers focuses on learning acceleration with high-dosage tutoring aligned to Math and ELA standards, using curriculum that leverages the Science of Reading for foundational literacy skills such as understanding sounds, learning letter-sound relationships, and becoming fluent in recognizing words. ELA high-dosage tutoring addresses reading standards like identifying main ideas and supporting details, while the Math curriculum is aligned with Renaissance Learning’s Focus Skills analysis and Achieve the Core and meets students at their starting points to move them toward grade level mastery. SAT prep includes guidance on the Math, Reading, and Writing sections of the SAT test and test-taking strategies specific to the new digital administration.
Tutored by Teachers has a network of more than 6,800 live U.S.-credentialed teachers, all rigorously vetted and monitored, with an average of 12 years of classroom experience. Among these teachers, 62% have graduate degrees, 52% are Special Ed or ELL certified, and 40% identify as people of color, and students work with consistent, experienced teachers every session. Instruction is differentiated by certified teachers, includes regular progress monitoring, and maintains a 100% teacher attendance rate, with vacancy support available as an interim solution so students do not have to fall behind.
Tutored by Teachers is on a mission to close the opportunity gap by serving high-need students with personalized virtual instruction delivered by highly qualified and diverse teachers. School districts and charter schools across the country partner with Tutored by Teachers for outcomes-focused virtual instruction, including Indianapolis Public Schools, United Schools of Indianapolis, Hebrew Public, Gwinnett County Public Schools, and Los Angeles Unified School District. The Michigan Association of Intermediate School Administrators has vetted Tutored by Teachers and listed the program on its website, and the program served more than 1,600 Indianapolis Public Schools Emerging Schools students in Fall 2023.
Tutored by Teachers is a selected vendor that exceeds the Michigan Department of Education criteria for grant funding, and its programs are eligible for Learning Recovery Act, CARES Act, Title I, and Title III funding. One instructional coach reported that NWEA scores were “skyrocketing” in the grades receiving Tutored by Teachers tutoring, and multiple school leaders described the experience as aligned, supportive, and accessible for students who needed additional support.
