The Children's Museum of Indianapolis – Family & Youth Programs offers hands-on activities such as touching a dinosaur bone, creating paleo art, experimenting in the science lab, and making art. Children can step into the world of the dinosaurs, see a mastodon discovered in Indiana, board the space station, board the plane to Peru, unlock pop culture memories, and play the day away in Playscape. Families can also see a show or take in a live theater show (seasonal), ride or take a spin on the historic Carousel, steer a pedal car, pose for a photo in an Indy Car, explore 7.5 acres of outdoor sports, try adaptive equipment available for each sport, and learn from experienced coaches.

• Price: Access Pass cardholders receive admission at any partner institution for $5 per family member per visit, for up to two adults and dependent youth under 21 years old living in the household; signing up for the Access Pass is free; Indiana residents enrolled in qualifying programs can visit for $5/ticket per visit.

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis includes five floors of fun and an outdoor sports wonderland with 7.5 acres of outdoor sports experiences (seasonal), interactive exhibits, dozens of daily activities led by experienced staff, a historic Carousel, Playscape, and a science lab. The museum features the largest water clock in North America, some of Dale Chihuly's tallest permanent installations, and the Reuben Wells steam engine (temporarily closed), and it is described as the world's BIGGEST children's museum. The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is a nonprofit organization with a mission to ignite joy, wonder, and curiosity by creating powerful learning experiences for children and adults.

Indianapolis arts and cultural institutions, including The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, participate in the Access Pass program to make fun family learning more accessible for Indiana residents enrolled in qualifying programs. Access Pass partner institutions listed include BellaBoo's: a Children's Play & Discovery Center, The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, Conner Prairie, Crispus Attucks Museum, Dance Kaleidoscope, The Eiteljorg Museum, Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Indiana Historical Society, Indianapolis Ballet, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Indianapolis Children's Choir, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites, The Museum of Miniature Houses and Other Collections, NCAA Hall of Champions, Newfields, Rhythm! Discovery Center, Terre Haute Children's Museum, and Wonderlab Museum of Science, Health, & Technology. The program notes that 12 partner museums and cultural attractions currently participate in the Access Pass Program, including Conner Prairie Interactive History Park, Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, Indiana Historical Society, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Indiana State Museum & Historic Sites, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, The NCAA Hall of Champions, Newfields, Rhythm!
