UNRNKD Hoops Indianapolis Basketball Academy is an annual program for 3rd–8th grade boys and girls that combines regular skill training and team-based workouts and uses a comprehensive, objective-based training program that follows a proven Euro development model. Daily classes are broken up into five different skill level tiers, and athletes are evaluated upon signing up and placed into the training level that matches their skills, with planned events throughout the year to level up to the next tier. The White Level is the first level of training for 6–10 year old athletes who need to build strong foundations and fundamentals, the Yellow Level is for 8–13 year old athletes who have foundations but need to become more fundamentally sound and add creativity, the Blue Level is for 10–15 year old athletes who have good fundamentals and have clearly shown competence in all Yellow level skills, the Red Level is for 13–18 year old athletes who are very experienced with a focus on mastery of skills and in-game reads and reactions, and the Black Level is for 16 year old through college level athletes focused on establishing excellence and innovating skills. Groups include an 8-to-1 player-to-coach ratio, and players can level up through objective-based basketball skill tests.
When a new athlete enters the gym, they receive a bag, shirt, reversible jersey, and wristbands in the color of their starting level, and upon each graduation to a new level, a new pack of colored gear is provided. Summer Elite Camps are half-day only, with a 10-players-per-coach ratio and higher level coaches, and focus on skill work, basketball IQ, and an uber competitive atmosphere. Summer Hoop Camps are all day, with half-day options in the morning and afternoon, a 12-players-per-coach ratio, and a focus on fun, games, competition, and skill work.
The academy is led by Ryan Gold and Jack O’Flaherty, along with a team of other highly regarded basketball development coaches who follow an objective-based curriculum. The stated mission is to combine a series of programs, based on extensive research and experience in youth basketball, that build proper fundamental skill and basketball IQ so young players can become successful at all levels, with an emphasis that rankings are meaningless and that learning and improvement are always the focus. UNRNKD Hoops is a Nike Grassroots Partner and is part of the Nike Jr. EYBL circuit for its top 7th and 8th grade teams and the Nike EYCL circuit for its top 9th, 10th, and 11th grade teams, which are described as the top places in the nation to play basketball during April, May, and July and as the most competitive with the best exposure to college coaches. New enrollment for the 2026–2027 academy will begin in mid June, and the program notes © 2026 All Rights Reserved.
