About

First Tee – Indiana Columbus Programs offers golf instruction combined with First Tee life skills lessons. Participants spend class time learning golf and building life skills, with a focus on fostering character development through the game.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Class options include weekday and Saturday sessions during February, March, April, and May, with additional multi-day sessions in June and July; individual class meeting blocks range from 1 hour to 2 hours 30 minutes, and Rocky Ford Summer 2026 offerings are described as week-long Monday–Thursday classes.

First Tee – Indiana in Columbus partners with the Columbus Parks Department, Harrison Lake Country Club, and Otter Creek Golf Course to offer these programs. Classes at Harrison Lake are led by Nodjya Cook, PGA, and Rocky Ford Golf Course classes are led by PGA Professional and Level 1 Coach Keith VanDeventer, with First Tee – Indiana coaches described as trained coaches. First Tee – Indiana is part of the Indiana Golf Foundation, which has over 20 years of experience providing golf programs to Indiana youth and has awarded over $600,000 in scholarships since 1994. The program is part of a wider network that includes 19 program regions, more than 345 elementary schools, 26 community center partners, and 82 golf courses offering First Tee programs across Indiana, and First Tee participants receive complimentary Youth on Course membership.
