About
Indy Youth Basketball League is a youth basketball league that offers league play for kids at different levels of experience. The league includes competition from recreational level to elite level and is open to players from A-team level to beginners. The program uses depth of competition and appropriate age rules, including a focus on limited zone defense and pressing at the youngest levels so rules are different for younger grades and older players.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
Pacers Athletic Center at Grand Park formed the Indy Youth Basketball League in 2016, and more than 1,200 teams have played in the league between leagues and tournaments. It is described as the largest youth basketball league in the state and is part of a Rake Development Project. The league’s mission states that it works hard to make it a great experience for kids of all ages and abilities and that it wants kids to truly learn how to play the game, with rules that reflect that focus. The program uses state-of-the-art facilities that emphasize friendly service, healthier food, and a clean environment, and games are scheduled at whichever of its facilities is more convenient for each team.
