The Culinary Center of Kansas City – Kids Classes & Camps offers cooking classes and interactive cooking events for kids. The program is part of a larger culinary operation that also hosts private dining experiences and team-building events each year. It includes a range of cooking classes for kids throughout the year, including summer and school break camps with award-winning instructors.

The Culinary Center of Kansas City is dedicated to the education and appreciation of food, wine, and culinary tradition. It hosts over 600 interactive cooking classes and private events every year, including more than 500 adult classes across dozens of cooking and baking styles. The organization is celebrating 30 years in 2026.
The teaching staff includes instructors such as Brent Grider, a certified sommelier with more than 20 years of experience in fine dining who holds the title of Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommelier and is certified through BarSmarts for cocktails and spirits. Bruce Campbell is an experienced restaurateur and award-winning BBQ Pitmaster with more than 30 years in hospitality and is a graduate of the Hotel and Restaurant Business School at Michigan State University. Executive Pastry Chef Catie Wiley joined the teaching staff full-time in 2024, has studied at Johnson and Wales University, holds a Master of Arts in Teaching, and has worked at several bakeries including an iconic French patisserie in Providence’s historic Federal Hill neighborhood.
The Culinary Center of Kansas City was selected as the “Best Team-Building Experience” in the Kansas City metro area by Ingram’s Magazine readers in their 2025 survey. Instructor Brent Grider has received the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine and local recognition of “Best Bar” by The Pitch magazine. The Culinary Center of Kansas City states that it would be happy to consider donation requests on behalf of not-for-profit charitable organizations.
