About
UK STEM Experiences Summer Camps includes week-long day camps with STEM Camp, STEAM Camp, Robotics Camp, Vex Robotics Camp, Lego Robotics Camp, Chem Camp, and Computer Science Camp. Activities include arts integration, daily computer programming through robotics, using sensors and coding to complete challenges and compete against peers, chemistry laboratory work, and hands-on programming with multiple types of sensors and condition loop sequences. Most camps meet 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and extended days are available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

- STEM Camp (Elementary and Middle School) — Elementary and Middle School; rising 2nd-4th grade students and rising 5th-8th grade students · Week-long day camp; 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.; extended days available 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. · $300 per week

- Robotics Camp (Middle School) — Middle School; rising 5th-8th grade students · Week-long day camp; 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.; extended days available 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. · Focused on robotics; students use sensors and coding to complete challenges and compete against peers.
- Vex Robotics Camp (Middle School) — Middle School; rising 5th-8th grade students · Week-long day camp; 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.; extended days available 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. · $300 per week · Focuses on VEX robots; students use sensors and coding to complete challenges and compete against peers; basic understanding of LEGO robotics or VEX robots required.
- Lego Robotics Camp (Middle School) — Middle School; rising 5th-8th grade students · Week-long day camp; 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.; extended days available 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. · Focuses on Lego robots; students use sensors and coding to complete challenges and compete against peers; no prior experience with Lego Robotics needed.
- Chem Camp (High School) — High School; incoming 9th-12th graders · Week-long day camp; 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.; extended days available 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. · $300 per week · Chemistry laboratory experience for incoming 9th-12th graders; investigative lab experiences on UK’s campus; no prior chemistry experience necessary.
- Computer Science Camp (High School) — High School; incoming 9th-12th graders · Week-long day camp; 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.; extended days available 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. · Hands-on programming experience; students learn to program multiple types of sensors and condition loop sequences; no advanced programming experience necessary.

About the provider
The program is a collaboration among the University of Kentucky College of Education, Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering, College of Arts and Sciences, and College of Medicine. Its mission is to expose students to a variety of positive learning experiences and career options in the STEM fields.
