Kentucky Science Center Camps and Education Programs

Kentucky Science Center Camps and Education Programs includes Science Camp, Little Learners Family Camp, STEAM Explorers @ Origin Park, and MakerPlace Workshops. Science Camp offers single-day experiences for PreK-5th and week-long Summer Camp sessions for those entering PreK-8th, while Little Learners Family Camp is for 24-year-olds and a guardian. MakerPlace Workshops are guided, hands-on workshops led by expert educators, usually lasting two hours and including a take-home project.

• MakerPlace Workshops — 8+ · $20–$35 · Guided, hands-on workshops led by expert educators; workshops typically last two hours and include a take-home project. Open to makers ages 8+ and adults are welcome.

About the provider

Kentucky Science Center has history dating back to 1871. The center says that science matters and that it encourages people of all ages to do science in ways that inspire a lifetime of learning. It is already recognized as a leader in inquiry-based learning and supports a statewide science literacy campaign, daily programming for children, families, and adults, and resources for caregivers and teachers.

Optional aftercare is a relaxed, childcare-only option with limited capacity. Camp provides a low staff-to-camper ratio of 10 campers to 1 staff member. Professional staff are teachers or college education students. Streamlined registration process and safe, secure drop-off and pick-up procedure.
