Learning and Creative Engagement (LACE)

Learning and Creative Engagement (LACE) at Actors Theatre of Louisville includes student matinee performances, classroom residencies, and workshops. Its offerings include New Voices, a classroom playwriting residency where students write a ten-minute play; Poetry, where students explore Muhammad Ali led social change and share stories through spoken word, poetry, and writing; Trash Puppets, where students transform recycled materials into puppets; and Multilingual Songwriting, where participants use Where Did We Sit on the Bus by Brian Quijada as a foundation for a songwriting share.

• Stagecraft Tools for the Apocalypse Series — community members · monthly · A monthly series of hands-on community workshops with Actors Theatre of Louisville and Louisville Tool Library.
• Residencies to Inspire Creativity — students · Classroom residencies, in-person and virtually, focused on creatively engaging students.
• New Voices — High School · A classroom playwriting residency in which students write a ten-minute play.
