YMCA Summer Camp includes games, swimming, hands-on activities, and outdoor adventures. The program takes place at YMCA of the Capital Area locations and uses a city-wide membership that gives access to any of these locations. At YMCA Summer Camp, kids build confidence, make new friends, and create memories that last a lifetime.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
For 175 years, the Y has been described as the heartbeat of community, where strangers become friends and every generation finds a place to belong. The mission of the Y is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The Y is a nonprofit, community service organization with a focus on strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, and it works side-by-side with neighbors of all ages, incomes, and backgrounds. Donations from the Annual School Supply Drive support children in the local community and are provided to YMCA Afterschool Care program schools. The leadership team includes Sean Elliott, President & CEO; Adonica Duggan, Vice Chair; Amy Province, Board Chair; Andy Blumberg, Past Chair; Mimi Riche, Board Chair; Robert Davis, Board Chair; Kedrick Gray, Board Chair; Pamela Whitley, Board Chair; and Greg Wood Jr., Board Chair.
