Christian Youth Theater

Christian Youth Theater offers classes in drama, voice, dance, and specialty classes that vary every session. It also offers Opening Act, weekly two-hour classes during fall, winter, and spring sessions, and CYT Camps, which are week-long day camps in the summer with drama, dance, music, craft workshops, a daily theme-related devotional, and a concluding showcase.

Programs

• Classes — 4-18 · Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions; weekly two-hour classes; Lafayette classes on Tuesday nights (Act 1: 4:30-6:30 pm, Act 2: 6:15-8:15 pm) · Classes are offered in drama, voice, dance, and specialty classes that vary every session. Students ages 8-18 in classes can audition for one of three MainStage shows each session.
• Opening Act — 4-7 · Each session
• CYT Camps — 4-18 · Week-long day camps during the summer months · Hands-on theater experience focused on performance skills, self-confidence, and teamwork. Includes drama, dance, music, craft workshops, a daily theme-related devotional, and a concluding showcase.
• CYT Summer Stock Shows — Not stated · Annual · Fully staged theatrical experience packed with energy, creativity, and on-stage excitement. Participants rehearse songs, choreography, and scenes in an immersive rehearsal process.

About the provider

Christian Youth Theater was founded in 1981, and CYT Lafayette is a licensed affiliate of CYT Inc. Students have the opportunity to audition and perform, or work behind the scenes, in a Broadway-style musical performed for the community.

CYT welcomes all kids of varying faiths, backgrounds, and beliefs. Camps are nut free. All campers must be potty trained. Refunds are not provided for camp registrations. Aftercare is offered until 5pm for 9am-2pm camps. CYT openly welcomes children who can function in a group/class setting but need extra help or attention.
