Wonderland Performing Arts was founded in 2017. The owner of Wonderland Performing Arts, Allison Barron Brandon, earned a theatre degree at ULL and worked on a Masters Degree at UNO. The mission of Wonderland Performing Arts is to instill a lifelong love of the arts in the community with innovation, originality, and ingenuity. The program is locally owned, uses the phrase “Small Stage, Big Stars,” and limits school-year productions to 40 students. Wonderland Performing Arts produces eight shows annually, and its sister non-profit theatre company, The Looking Glass Theatre Co., produces four shows annually. Wonderland Performing Arts collaborates with other community organizations in Acadiana, and students perform at local retirement homes, Acadian Village, Moncus Park, South College Center Christmas Celebrations, Festival International, and Bridgepoint Farms. The organization supports local groups including Maddie’s Footprints, Healing House, Sacred Heart, and Episcopal School of Acadiana, and the owner serves on the board of The Looking Glass Theatre Co. and as a city commissioner for the Heymann Performing Arts Center.
