Belmont Day Camp

Belmont Day Camp offers General Day Camp, where campers are grouped by entering grade in the coming fall and take part in a daily swim lesson in the morning and free swim in the afternoon. It also offers Journeys Camp, with daily trips to destinations around Eastern Massachusetts, Specialty Camps focused on topics such as engineering, nature, or art, and Sports Camps run in one-week programs.

• Ages: 3–15 years old
• General schedule: General Day Camp runs in four two-week sessions; campers are grouped by entering grade. Every group participates in a daily swim lesson in the morning and enjoys a free swim period in the afternoon. The camp drop-off time is 8:45 to 9 a.m. and pick-up time is 3:45 p.m.; extended day runs 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

About the provider

Belmont Day Camp is now well into its eighth decade. Its leadership team includes Zach d’Arbeloff, Director of Summer Programs, and Stephen Marks, Director of Athletics. The camp must comply with the regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the local board of health, and Belmont Day School maintains accreditation with the American Camp Association.

• General Day Camp — Ages 3 to 15 · Four two-week sessions (A, B, C, D) · Well-rounded camp experience; campers are placed in groups by entering grade in the coming fall.
• Journeys Camp — Grades 5-8 · Daily trips · Travel to exciting spots around Eastern Massachusetts, with a new destination each day.
• Specialty Camps — Ages 3 to 15 · Programming centered around a specific topic, like engineering, nature, or art; offerings change each year.
• Sports Camps — Ages 3 to 15 · One-week programs · General sports-focused programs that begin and end the summer and are run in coordination with Belmont Day School’s athletics department.
• Swim and Tennis Association — All ages · Off-hours pool and tennis membership with access to pools, tennis/basketball courts, fields, and playground after camp on weekdays and weekends.

Children must be fully potty-trained to participate. Campers are placed in groups by entering grade in the coming fall. Future Leaders are a counselor-in-training program by application and interview only. Families anticipating assistance needs are asked to contact the Director of Summer Programs.
