Boys & Girls Club of Chicopee

Boys & Girls Club of Chicopee offers activities that include basketball, general program activities, and homework assistance. The program takes place in spaces that use cameras in all program areas and restrict access to certain websites during computer time. All visitors enter through front entrances with locked doors and must check in at the front desk for access to program spaces.

The program’s mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need the Club most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. All staff and board members undergo mandatory criminal background checks every year, and staff members take part in regular child safety training sessions, including webinars and seminars. The organization has a zero tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior, including child abuse or misconduct, and conducts regular safety evaluations, including annual safety assessments. A dedicated Safety Committee includes staff, board members, and local community partners such as representatives from the Chicopee School Department and the Police and Fire Departments. The Chicopee Boys Club was elected to the National Boys Clubs of America in 1952, and the Club’s name changed to the Chicopee Boys & Girls Club, Inc. in March 1988.
