Chilmark Community Center Summer Programs

Chilmark Community Center Summer Programs includes Summer Camp, Playschool, Little Sprouts, Athletics Camp, Summer Stage: A Performing Arts Camp for Young Artists, Sailing Program, and Swimming & Water Safety. Summer Camp offers Morning Camp from 9:00-12:00, Afternoon Program from 12:00-3:00, and extended day until 5:00 PM; Athletics Camp runs August 17-28 with half-day or full-day options, and Sailing Program includes daily morning sessions with afternoon sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays and introductory sailing on Tuesdays.

About the provider

The program runs summer operations from mid-June through Labor Day. It has been serving the community for nearly 70 years and opened on June 30, 1957. It serves over 1,000 individuals each summer across camp, sailing, tennis, adult fitness, and community events, and its mission is for the benefit, education, and enjoyment of both summer and year-round residents.

A full-day camp option was added in 2018. Afternoon program was historically for children age 6 and older; in 2026 a small afternoon program for playschool-aged children was introduced with a maximum capacity of 15 campers. Extended day until 5:00 PM is available on a first come first serve basis.
