Chilmark Community Center Summer Programs
Chilmark Community Center, 520 S Rd, Chilmark, MA 2535
About
Chilmark Community Center Summer Programs offers a playschool for children that includes activities for ages 3 to 5. The program also includes a morning program with a full range of activities for kids ages 6 to 14, along with tennis and sailing programs, exercise classes and activities for adults, and an evening and weekend program of lectures, music, and special events. The program involves a little less structure than some camps, with programming that includes a range of choices for kids and accountability, and it remains a spontaneous and informal place where families gather naturally and older and younger children interact with ease.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Price: The fees for the summer program are set to cover estimated operating costs.
In July and August, Chilmark Community Center Summer Programs hosts a variety of programs for children, their families, and adults. The Chilmark Town Affairs Council (CTAC), the nonprofit organization responsible for summer programming of the Chilmark Community Center, guides the organization’s efforts in advancing its mission and serving the community. The Center’s mission states that all participants, including campers, counselors, staff, and adult members, are expected to be inclusive and welcoming to people of diverse backgrounds, races, cultures, ethnicities, religious beliefs, gender, sexual orientation, and abilities, and that harassment, bullying, abuse, or any behavior that creates a hostile or intimidating environment is not allowed, and those who cannot abide by these values cannot participate in Chilmark Community Center programs. The leadership team includes Michelle O’Connor (Chair), Robin Rivera (Vice-Chair), Keith Fenner (Treasurer), Morgan Baker (Secretary), Mathea Morais, Lee Berresford, Miles Brucculeri, Jay Brelis-Farrell, Katie Carroll, Cory Medeiros, Anne Mayhew, Katharine Poole, Ishmail Samad, and Paul Sutherland. One parent testimonial states, “Thank you for a great summer! My girls loved camp and their counselors were all fantastic. They are already looking forward to next summer!” from Brooke Couch Freeland. Summer 2026 gift cards and gift certificates are available for camp experiences and activities, Summer 2026 Summer Program Committee applications are open for individuals to help shape summer programming, and volunteer sign-up is available for specific volunteer opportunities where help is needed.
