About the provider

The Chilmark Community Center officially opened on June 30, 1957, after residents saw in 1955 that the community had lost its gathering place. Its mission is described as being "for the benefit, education, and enjoyment of both summer and year-round residents." The program page says Summer Stage is led by a team of experienced teaching artists with decades of professional experience across theater, movement, and poetry. Swimming & Water Safety is led by Miles Brucculeri, who brings over 25 years of experience in swimming, open-water safety, and lifeguard training.

A separate Sprouts program was created for five-year-olds. Full-day camp option was added in 2018. The Afternoon Program was historically available only to children age 6 and older; in 2026 a small afternoon program for playschool-aged children was introduced. Family schedule options are noted for Athletics Camp. Registration wording includes first come first serve for extended day.

What families say

“It's hard for me to overstate how much attending the CCC Summer Camp has boosted Jack's confidence over the years. He is so proud to be a member of the community and is looking forward to attending the Counselor in Training program when he turns 15.” — Desiree Cifre
