About
Camp Grossman is a mixed-gender traditional outdoor day camp that includes lakefront swimming, sports, arts, nature activities, music, and drama. Campers take part in both land and water activities, including a daily lakefront swim and free swim.
• Ages: 5–15 years old
• Schedule: Regular camp hours are approximately 9am–4pm, with camp running for nine weeks between June 29 and August 21, split into four two-week sessions and an optional ninth week August 24–28. All campers are required to enroll in at least one two-week session, and families may then register for additional single weeks, with an optional ninth week that runs on a single camp-wide schedule, has smaller enrollment, offers camp-wide activities, and includes free swim twice daily instead of swim instruction.
• Price: Summer 2026 rates include: General Pricing (K–7th Grade) $1594 per session and $847 per “Plus Week”; 3:1 Supported Program (1st Grade and up) $1594 per session and $847 per “Plus Week”; Kibbutz (8th & 9th Grade) $1694 per session and $872 per “Plus Week”; CIT (10th Grade) $1300 per session and $675 per “Plus Week”; 9th Week Program (K–7th Grade) $810; 9th Week Kibbutz Program (8th & 9th Grade) $600. Add-ons are bus transportation at $90 per week and After Care at the JCC at $200 per week, with a sibling discount of $50 for the second and each additional sibling, a $50 per session discount for JCC members, a $36 non-refundable annual registration fee per camper that increases on April 1, and a $25 per week fee for applications received after 12/31 for campers who choose car transportation.
Camp Grossman is JCC Greater Boston’s traditional outdoor day camp for children entering Kindergarten through 10th grade. Youngest campers are grouped together in mixed-gender bunks, while most bunks for older campers offer a choice between mixed-gender and separate-gender bunks, and bunks are grouped into units based on campers’ ages and upcoming grades in school. During the ninth week, the entire camp runs on the same schedule, with more opportunities for campers of different ages to interact, and bus transportation is limited to centralized bus stops in Brookline, Cambridge, Lexington, Natick, and Newton.
The camp’s mission states that it believes children thrive in an environment that encourages them to step out of their comfort zones and try new things, and that a supportive and nurturing atmosphere combined with a two-week session helps every child feel empowered to tackle new challenges and develop important skills. Senior staff members have an average of 20 years of experience, and both land and water activities are led by experienced and trained adult activity specialists, with 75% of counselors being former Grossman campers and counselor-to-camper ratios described as excellent in each bunk. Transportation is available to camp from over 30 Greater Boston communities, and Summer 2026 enrollment is open for all families, with a Prospective Family Inquiry Form, open houses, and virtual info sessions offered for prospective families and new campers.
