PROformance Soccer Academy offers soccer training through Day Academy, Night Clinics, Winter Training, Player Development Training, and Wall Training. The program runs year round, and players enroll by season in winter, spring, summer, or fall. It is a supplemental training organization and is not a club and does not have any teams.
• Ages: 4–12 years old
• Schedule: Year-round programs with seasonal enrollment; winter and summer trainings are usually 8 weekly classes
PROformance Soccer Academy was founded in 2009, initially offering only summer clinics, and has been helping players improve for 15 years. The training curriculum for all programs was developed by Miles Alden-Dunn and Shalrie Joseph, an 8-time MLS All-Star. The curriculum and core philosophies are based on a combined 40 years of playing, coaching, and learning from respected clubs and coaches around the world. The program’s mission focuses on individual player development rather than team development or tactics, with an emphasis on teaching correct execution of fundamental skills. Its two stated credos are “Master the fundamentals” and “Success through repetition.” The basis of the training philosophy is the mastery of four major technical components of soccer: passing/receiving, dribbling, shooting/finishing, and defending. PROformance Soccer Academy describes itself as the leading soccer training organization in Massachusetts and is used by many families as supplemental training while players continue with their town and/or club teams. The programs are open to players of all ages and skill levels, and almost all participants also play on town and/or club teams. Fall and spring Player Development Training is offered in conjunction with town soccer organizations. The coaching staff is handpicked, shares the program’s player development vision, and is selected in part for knowing how to interact with young children and foster a learning environment that is described as extremely fun.
