About
Franklin Volleyball Club offers leveled volleyball clinics, volleyball camps, private volleyball sessions, and a Mini-Club volleyball program. Players receive serving, passing, setting, and hitting instruction, and private sessions can include on-site video review and analysis with high-quality repetition of targeted skills.
• Ages: 8–14 years old
• Schedule: Leveled clinics and camps run January through August; private sessions with a Franklin Volleyball Club coach are offered year-round; the Mini-Club season runs from September 3 to October 26, 2025, with competition teams typically practicing twice weekly for 90 minutes and practice teams typically practicing once weekly.
• Price: Private sessions for groups of 1–3 cost $130 per hour for one session or $105 per hour for three or more sessions.
The Franklin Volleyball Club Mini-Club program was launched in the fall of 2019 with seven players and has grown to over 50 players across multiple competitive and practice teams. The Mini-Club program offers 4th–8th graders the chance to build volleyball skills on competition teams and practice teams, with competition teams targeting intermediate and advanced players in grades 6–8 and practice teams targeting newer players in grades 4–7. The Mini-Club program is usually unsuitable for beginner 8th-grade players, and approximately 80% of Mini-Club players go on to play club, with the majority playing for SMASH or Lockdown. The stated goal of the Mini-Club program is to provide players with high-quality coaching and skill development and prepare them for success at club tryouts.
The leadership team includes Club Director Cathy Sanford and co-founders Eric Bonnet-Eymard and Megan Woodacre. Coaches and staff have experience that includes Franklin Recreation Volleyball, Mass Premier Middle School League, Mass Premier Volleyball Club, Coastal Volleyball Club, SMASH Volleyball Club, Metrowest Juniors Volleyball Club, Generations Volleyball Club, and college programs at Emerson College, Western New England University, Mount Ida College, and Colby-Sawyer College. Several staff members have played collegiate volleyball, and some hold USAV Impact and SafeSport certifications. Individual staff honors include a Massachusetts Division I State Championship in 2009, 2018 HockomockSports.com Player of the Year, and 2018 Massachusetts All-State recognition.
