The Franklin Youth Soccer Association is a non-profit organization that governs, conducts, promotes, and encourages the playing of soccer by the youth of Franklin. It was established in 1967 and operated as a wholly volunteer organization out of the homes of its members for many years before hiring a Club Administrator and moving into an office in 2000. The mission of the association is to develop players at all levels of interest and ability by helping them build and improve their skills, confidence, fitness, and sense of teamwork, and to provide each player with the opportunity to play soccer in an age-appropriate environment that emphasizes fun, competition, and the development of age-appropriate skills. The association is committed to provide quality coach and referee education, promotes sporting behavior and fair play, and supports and advocates for more and better training facilities and playing fields. The FYSA Board of Directors meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month in the FYSA office at 7:30 PM, and during the soccer playing seasons meetings are often swapped to start at 8:00 PM, and these Board of Directors meetings are open to the public. The leadership team includes a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Travel Division Director, Academy Division Director, Instructional Division Director, FSC Director, Director Emeritus, Club Administrator, and Referee Assignor, all listed by name.
