About
Greenfield Recreation Department Summer Camps offers daily playground time, swim time, games, and arts and crafts. Campers take part in interactive games, create arts and crafts projects, swim, explore, and engage in imaginative play. Some sessions include “yucky foods and gross challenges” with slime, mud, and muck.
• Ages: 5–16 years old
• Schedule: Eight one-week sessions with a regular program and optional early and late care
• Price: Session A–H Regular Program: $200 residents, $210 non-residents; Session B Regular Program: $160 residents, $170 non-residents; Early Care: $30 per child per session ($24 for Session B); Late Care: $30 per child per session ($24 for Session B); additional $30 field trip fee for Sessions C, E, G; non-refundable $25 registration deposit per child per week; 8 Week Special Discount available
Discovery Camp serves campers in grades K–2 with a 1:5 staff-to-camper ratio, and Sizzlers Camp serves campers in grades 3–6 with a 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio. The Leadership in Training Program is offered for campers in grades 7–10. Eight themed one-week sessions are available: Clowning Around, Community Kids, Fun-Fetti, Gross Out, Zoofari, Camp's Got Talent, Magical Movies, and Summer's Last Splash.
Field trips are scheduled to Fun Hub, Southwick's Zoo, and Garden Cinema, with an additional $30 field trip fee for Sessions C, E, and G. Special guests include Jason Tardy High Energy Juggler and Comedian, The Yo-Yo Show, and Ice Cream Emergency. The Community Kids session theme focuses on giving for the community in which all campers belong and working to spread kindness everywhere.
Daily lunch and a morning snack are provided, and families are asked to pack a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and an afternoon snack, and to send campers in sneakers and clothes for lots of activity. Additional forms are required for registration, including a Child Information Form, camper survey, immunization records, and a physical record completed within the last two years, and registration is not accepted without all required paperwork and the deposit fee.
The Greenfield Recreation Department states that its experienced staff will create a safe, welcoming, and fun environment through specially trained staff, age-specific safety precautions, and a well-rounded curriculum that supports the physical, social, and emotional development of each child. The Greenfield Recreation Department is committed to providing a fun, safe, and memorable experience for all campers. All camps comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and are licensed by the local board of health. The leadership team includes Christy Moore, Recreation Director; Kelly Jenkins, Assistant Director; Shayla Demers, Program Supervisor; and Will Hesslink, Youth Center Coordinator.
