Camp Charter Oak states that it offers a unique balance of a traditional day camp experience in the convenient and familiar setting of the country club, with outstanding amenities, exciting programming, and an experienced and energetic staff team, and that it is a structured and fun day camp. Weekly Thankful Thursday projects include activities such as a Thankful Thursday Kindness Chain for SCOPE, Community Appreciation Day, Club Appreciation Day, Thankful for Camp, and lunch bag decoration for Meals on Wheels, and these projects allow campers to work together on simple, fun, and rewarding community service initiatives. The camp uses SMILE Bands to acknowledge positive attributes and support camper personal growth, and it is a nut aware camp where lunches and snacks served by the club will not contain any nuts.
All campers must be at least 4 years old by the first day they attend camp, must be potty-trained, and must be able to handle a full day program. If a family is not a Club Member of Charter Oak Country Club, the camper must be sponsored by a Club Member to register. Registration for Summer 2026 opens to Club Members and Guests of Members on January 12, 2026 at 10:00am EST, and campers must be enrolled in advance in order to attend camp. The one-time, non-refundable registration fee includes 2 camp shirts, and KE Camps requires all campers to wear the official camp shirt each day of the week. Camp is described as a place to un-plug, and electronic devices and cell phones should be left at home.
Families are asked to have campers dress in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes and to pack items in a labeled bag or backpack. Suggested items include extra snacks (optional), a flotation vest for children classified as Bogey/non-swimmers or if a parent prefers this classification for use in the shallow end of the pool, optional golf clubs, sunscreen (with spray for the body preferred), a swimsuit, an optional tennis racquet, a towel, and a water bottle. If a family prefers to pack lunch, it should be sent in a cooler or backpack. This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the local Board of Health.
