• Ages: 6–17 years old
• Schedule: two week camp programs
Behn Basketball Camp was founded by Massachusetts basketball player Sarah Behn in 1994 and is entering its 32nd season. Since the first two week camp programs, more than 27,000 campers have completed the program, and many participants have later played at the junior varsity, varsity, and collegiate levels. The camp offers full day, half day, and overnight programs for boys and girls ages 8 to 16, and also offers programs for girls ages 6 to 17, in more than 20 locations across Eastern Massachusetts, with over 26 camp locations and a record number of sell-outs in 2025.
The camp’s stated philosophy is to instill confidence in young players by teaching basketball fundamentals, which in turn raises their level of play and makes the game more fun to play. Behn Basketball Camp is in full compliance with the regulations set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, is licensed by local Boards of Health, and complies with 105 CMR 430.000. Parents and guardians may review health care, discipline, and background check policies and grievance procedures upon request. Pre-registration is not complete until each camper submits a copy of their most recent physical exam and immunization records, with the physical taking place within the last two years, and an updated copy is required for each season regardless of previous attendance.
The camp is led by Vice President Sarah Behn and Director of Operations Chris Warnat. Sarah Behn was an All-America selection in basketball and soccer at Foxboro High School, set the Massachusetts state scoring record in 1989 with 2,562 career points, and remains in the top ten scorers in state history for boys and girls. She was named Gatorade Player of the Year as a high school senior. At Boston College, she was the first woman in school history to score more than 2,000 points, set a Big East freshman scoring record with 428 points, and was named the league’s Rookie of the Year. She was the first Boston College player to earn All-America honors as a freshman, is the only four-time All-America basketball player in Boston College history, and as a senior became the all-time leading scorer in Big East basketball, men or women, with 2,523 career points. She was inducted into the Boston College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998, and in 2003 Boston College retired her jersey, the only female athlete at the school to receive this honor. Sports Illustrated named her one of the Top Ten Athletes in Boston College history. After college, she played professional basketball in Ettlebruck, Luxembourg, where she was the leading scorer in central Europe with 35 points per game. In addition to running the camps, she has coached at the Division III and Division II college levels and served as varsity coach at Foxboro High School, and she is currently the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Brown University.
A parent testimonial states: “Thomas is always talking about things he learned in Behn camp. We sign up for your camps first and plan the rest of our summer around them.”
