Mel O’ Drama is a multi-faceted performing arts school offering various programs that enable students to learn about theatre and the performing arts. The program offers beginner drama, beginner musical theater, an advanced musical theatre production program, intermediate musical theatre dance, improv classes, acting for the camera, inclusive theatre classes, and scene study.

Mel O’ Drama was founded in 2011, and the School of Mel O' Drama was founded in Milton and Quincy, Massachusetts in 2011 by Melanie Grace Gillespie. Melanie Grace Gillespie is the Founder and Artistic Director of Mel O’ Drama and received her BFA in theatre training at Emerson College in Boston. Mel O’ Drama offers a wide array of year-round classes and offers programs both in the community and online. The program includes inclusive theatre classes and states a focus on empowering kids by boosting their self-confidence and strengthening their self-belief, while creating a safe environment where kids can explore and find their people.
One parent of a 5-year-old student shared that their child asks every day if it is a Mel O’ Drama day and described the program as a fun and safe environment that keeps kids’ imaginations active, calling it a game-changer for their child’s emotional wellbeing. Another parent of two students described Melanie as a trusted leader for their kids during Covid times and said that she and her team kept a social and emotional outlet open for kids who needed it.
