Pembroke School of Performing Arts was established in February of 1988. Its mission states that it was established with the desire to provide proper dance and theater education, acknowledging that all children (young and old) should have the opportunity to explore the world of performing arts in a positive, safe and friendly environment. The mission also states that Pembroke School of Performing Arts promotes the art of dance through programs that provide students the opportunity to explore, discover and dance at a level appropriate for their age, skill and desire.

The program offers multi-level award winning dance teams and competition dance teams that attend three regional competitions and one national competition in July. The PSPA Dance and Performance Teams have consistently achieved among the highest scores in performance, technique, choreography, precision, costuming, and audience appeal, as well as individual recognition each year in both regional and national competitions since 1989. These events have included participation in Elite Dance Team, Elite Dance Titles, Miss IDC Programs, Dance America VIP Programs, TV commercials, and other national and international performances such as the All American Capital One Halftime Show with Hunter Hayes and invitations to the Orange Bowl Halftime Show. Alumni have performed with Disney and Royal Caribbean, and alumni have held various teaching positions including college level and professional opportunities with international dance companies.

One parent describes the new studio location in Corporate Park as state-of-the-art. Multiple parent and alumni testimonials describe the teachers and staff as welcoming, kind, caring, compassionate, and family-oriented, and several note long-term involvement at the studio from early childhood through high school. One testimonial notes that a former student went on to dance professionally at Disney World for eight years, and another mentions that a child participates in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and acro at the studio.
