About

Camp Russell offers tubing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, arts and crafts, gardening, hiking, nature adventures, group games, and both competitive and non-competitive games. Campers take part in athletic and sport activities, various special events, field trips, and scheduled swim time. Day Camp groups follow individual itineraries of activities, and Sports Camp focuses on athletic-based activities organized by age, including training as athletes and learning new skills for favorite sports.

• Ages: 5–16 years old
• Schedule: Weekly sessions from June through August, with 2025 camp weeks running from June 23 through August 15; standard drop-off at Camp Russell is no earlier than 8:30am and pick-up is no later than 3:30pm, with additional options at the Boys & Girls Club site and extended care from 7:30am to 5:30pm for registered families
• Price: 2025 weekly rates are $195 per week for Day & Sports Camp (K–8th grade, must have completed Kindergarten) and $115 per week for the LIT Program (9th and 10th grade); optional additional care is $50 per week per selected camp week, a current Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires membership costs $20 plus a $3 service fee, there is no daily rate, and payment plans are available only for early registration by April 18th with a $195 per child payment due at registration and full payment or enrollment in a payment plan required to be registered

Camp Russell is the summer home of the Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires and operates on over 200 acres, with on any given week between 250 and 380 campers attending and campers organized into age-appropriate groups with a 2:10 staff ratio. Camp facilities include a dining hall, infirmary, recreation hall, two directors’ cabins, a girls’ cabin, two brick structure cabins, a boathouse, Wilson storage cabin, pool house, pavilion, and a handicap accessible in-ground wading pool. The grounds include a playground area, soccer and ball fields, an outdoor basketball court, a beach-entry pool, and a full waterfront area for swimming and boating. The camp store operates on a cash-only basis, and campers can bring cash for extra snacks and drinks.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires notes “125 Years of Impact” and states that summer vacations are an ideal time for members to engage in physical and learning opportunities, and that its summer camp activities reinforce important skills that are often not focused on when school is not in session. The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires, Inc. is to enhance the quality of life for youth as participating members of a richly diverse society, with emphasis on being socially and economically inclusive and helping youth to help themselves to realize their potential for growth, development, and leadership.
