About the provider

The leadership team includes Jonathan Chang, Michelle Lin, Jenna Carrara, and Coach Heidi Butler. Wu An translates to “martial peace,” and the school emphasizes inner and outer peace through martial arts training and passing martial moralities to the next generation of students. Jonathan D. Chang is listed as Shaolin 5th Duan Instructor (10th level) and Taijiquan Instructor (5th level). Coach Heidi Butler has trained at YMAA Boston for 20 years in Shaolin kung fu and 14 years in Taijiquan, holding 3rd stripe in Shaolin and 1st stripe in Taiji.

  • Free Trial Class — One free class for every new student.
  • Kids Class Card — 5 classes for $80, valid for 8 weeks. Can be used for Kids Kung Fu, Kids Lion Dance, or both.

Every new student gets a free trial class. Session dates depend on coach availability. To hear about the next session, families can join the waitlist. For Kids Lion Dance, students who also train Kung Fu tend to pick it up faster. For Youth Kung Fu, a trial class is required before enrolling. A six-year-old may fit in both Kids Kung Fu and Youth Kung Fu; the school says the right choice usually comes down to maturity and attention span rather than age.
