About

Camp Joey is a traditional day camp that includes arts and crafts, sports, science, and time to swim and play. Campers go on field trips, and these trips are typically within an hour’s drive from camp. Campers receive a camp T-shirt to wear on field trips, and Camp Joey campers are required to wear personal flotation devices, which are provided by the camp, and are not allowed in the deep swim area.

• Ages: 5–7 years old
• Schedule: Field trips on Wednesdays, weather permitting; extended AM option from 8:15–9:00am and extended PM option from 4:00–5:00pm
• Price: Extended AM and PM option cost is $25 per week.

Camp Joey will be held at Upham Elementary School for 2025, and campers will be bused to Morses Pond to swim and play four days per week, weather permitting. Each camper is asked to bring two nut-free snacks, lunch, and a reusable water bottle daily, with refrigeration provided except on field trip days. Campers should also bring a swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, and sunscreen every day. The program has a maximum of 60 campers, and camp staff ratios meet state regulations of 1 staff member for every 5 campers under the age of 7. All health forms, permission slips, authorization to administer medications, and immunization records must be filed electronically at www.CampDocs.com.

All Senior counselors are 18 years or older and all Junior counselors are 14 years or older, and both attend an orientation session that includes First Aid and CPR training. Each counselor is CORI/SORI checked each year. Camp Joey is led by camp director Chad Norton (contact: [email protected]). All summer camps in this program are licensed by the Wellesley Board of Health.
