About

EXPLO Summer Programs for Middle Schoolers includes activities such as a glow stick party, seeing a Red Sox game, whale watching, trying comedy, playing soccer (football), and museum day. The program offers workshops and electives across arts, STEM, design, cooking, and leadership, along with afternoon activities and clubs, evening events and showcases, and Boston excursions and big group trips. Students can choose from the EXPLO 360° program with 40+ options including Engineering, Architecture, Forensics, and Comedy, as well as specialized Veterinary Science and Medical Rotations Focus Programs that use models, simulations, demos, and guidance from medical professionals and visits to clinics and wildlife centers.

• Schedule: Two-week residential or day pre high school summer programs

The program is accredited by the Middle States Association Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools. Leadership and instructional staff include Connor Dumont, an award-winning math teacher and EXPLO Instructor; Kalpana Acharya, PhD, a Neuroscience and Biology researcher and EXPLO instructor; and Caitlin Fuller, Director of Teaching and Learning. Alumni of the organization include a Research Scientist at NASA Jet Propulsion Lab (Mars 2020 Rover Mission) and Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, a Climate Resilience and Youth Empowerment Activist and founder of Light and Hope for Puerto Rico, and a Grammy Award Winner and Tony Award Nominee actor and singer. The organization’s origin is described as “From MIT startup to discovery powerhouse.” Application opens on October 15, 2025 for Summer 2026.
