Founded in 1981, Kiddie Academy Educational Child Care has been shaping, fueling, and nurturing children’s natural curiosity since it opened over 40 years ago. George and Pauline Miller founded the brand, and the Miller family continues to own and operate Kiddie Academy. The program uses a proprietary Life Essentials® curriculum focused on six key outcomes that prepare children for life, and technology is incorporated as a supportive learning tool in a balanced way for learning activities such as science, literacy, and math content. Kiddie Academy also offers a summer camp program called CampVentures®.

All Kiddie Academy educators must meet or exceed the state requirements for child care providers, including background clearance, education qualifications, and ongoing professional development. Each Kiddie Academy has secure entries, authorized pick-up procedures, cleaning protocols, and completes background checks for all staff, and employees are trained on health and safety protocols. To keep children healthy, Kiddie Academy follows Health EssentialsSM guidelines to uphold the highest level of health precautions and cleanliness. The organization focuses on benchmarking measures of excellence and proactively securing accreditation.

Kiddie Academy states that it is driven to prepare children for life through its passion for early childhood education, community commitment, and its Life Essentials® curriculum, and that it aims to educate and encourage children both in and out of the classroom. Corporate Social Responsibility is described as a strong commitment and a community pillar, including efforts such as donating $100,000 to uplift children at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center and hosting an annual toy drive to support Harford County families. The program is described as a welcoming community where lifelong friendships and lasting memories are formed.
