Little Friends for Peace Youth Programs offers activities such as Peace Camp, Mini Peace Camps, retreats, Peace Through Sports, and Peace and Yoga. The program also includes Virtual Tutoring, in-school and after school programming, Peace Circles, Virtual Peace Circles, Peace Academy, trainings and workshops, private trainings and workshops, restorative programming, Peace in Pieces, Peace for Palestine, and a Day of Reflection.
Little Friends for Peace was founded in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1981. In 1988, founders MJ and Jerry Park moved their family to Mount Rainier, Maryland, and expanded their mission. In 1999, Little Friends for Peace became a founding organization of the Perry School Community Services Center, and in 2006 it was officially incorporated as a nonprofit. MJ and Jerry Park are lifelong peace educators with over 35 years of experience leading year-round programs for children and adults. The organization’s mission is to teach peace by equipping people of all ages with skills to prevent, resolve, and transform conflict, and to interrupt cycles of violence and grow a culture of care and nonviolence one person and one community at a time. Its peace curriculum has reached communities across the United States and internationally, including China and El Salvador. Little Friends for Peace proudly partners with churches, schools, and nonprofits across the DC metropolitan area to build relationships rooted in peace.
