KidStrong is a kids training program that builds strong, confident and high-character kids and focuses on three pillars: Character, Physical, and Cognitive. Everything in the program is based on the Whole Child Philosophy, which focuses on strong character, strong body, and strong mind. The curriculum is science-based programming designed by child development experts and is delivered in 45-minute, age-appropriate structured classes where kids can rank up, unlock new responsibilities, and celebrate progress. Classes start and end with a KidStrong affirmation, include a social greeting with handshakes, eye contact, and saying their name, and feature a Move & Learn block that blends physical activity with cognitive or character development, a Competition block, and an award ceremony recognizing kids’ and parents’ efforts every week. KidStrong offers Camps and KidStrong Camp* where kids gain friendships, learn new skills, build confidence, and create memories, and KidStrong does not provide medical services, does not accept insurance, and cannot guarantee that a child will learn how to fly.
KidStrong’s coaches are specially trained, compassionate leaders who inspire kids to be their best selves, and all coaches are certified and professional. The program is guided by a group of experts, child development scientists, and coaches, including leadership team members Matt & Megin Sharp (Founders), Morgan Johnson (Sr. Manager, Training & Certification), Ramon Williams (Senior Programming Specialist), Randy Nguyen (Programming Specialist), Patti Eubanks (Preschool & Kindergarten Director), Patrick Ford (Doctor of Physical Therapy), and Dr. Julie Foucher (MD, Family Physician, 4x CrossFit Games Competitor). The program is designed by child development experts to improve emotional, physical, and mental skills.
KidStrong was founded in 2015 and now has more than 160 locations serving more than 65,000 kids per week, and it celebrated its 100th center opening with franchisee Barb Volk in Plantation, Florida. KidStrong’s credentials and awards note that certain information is based on a parent survey conducted in September 2023.
Parents have shared that KidStrong has been “life changing” for a child who had not found success in other sports programs or after-school clubs and has taught skills like how to participate, listen, be a good teammate, and practice patience (Lauren D., KidStrong Crestview Hills). Another parent reported that a daughter who has attended since July 2022 “has loved it” and is “more brave doing things that others her age might be really scared to do” (Tara R., KidStrong Mandeville). One parent shared that a child who started at 16 months became less shy and more engaged after about four months, and that KidStrong is their family’s favorite part of each week (Cody D., KidStrong Prosper). Other parents noted that their kids “have really begun to come out of their shells” (Charlie S., KidStrong Waldwick, NJ), that a “Covid-baby” became less shy with caring coaches (Quiandra G., KidStrong Prairieville, LA), that a daughter’s confidence “skyrocketed” with once-a-week attendance (Summer, Rocklin, CA), that a previously shy and anxious child became more confident (Jessica, Noblesville, Indiana), and that a child with a speech delay became more motivated and started putting effort into learning words and daily skills (Ella, San Antonio, Texas).
