About
KidStrong Annapolis is a kids' development center where children take part in obstacle courses, tug of war, tire flips, puzzles, games, and other mental challenges. Each 45-minute class is built to combine movement, learning, and coaching, with activities like obstacle courses and challenges used in every session. Classes start and end with a KidStrong affirmation, and students practice introducing themselves by shaking hands, making eye contact, and saying their name.
• Ages: 1–11 years old
• Schedule: Membership includes one 45-minute class per week.
KidStrong Annapolis uses a science-based kids training program that focuses on strong bodies, strong minds, and strong character, with each session including physical activity, cognitive development, and life skills. The curriculum is designed by child development experts and is organized around three pillars called Strong Body, Strong Mind, and Strong Character, using warm-ups, skill development, and repeated training and testing. Kids walking to age 11 tackle challenges in weekly, coach-led classes that include games like tug of war and tire flips, puzzles, and mental challenges, along with an award ceremony each week recognizing kids and parents and celebrating progress. Parents join their kids on the floor in classes for children under 4 years old, and families are brought into the action so they can watch classes closely.
KidStrong was founded in 2015 by Matt and Megin Sharp in Lexington, Kentucky, for their daughter Ella, and they partnered with Lincoln Brown to turn the idea into a scalable business. The program reports a 96% 5-star rating based on 46,774 Google reviews. Coaches at KidStrong Annapolis are described as specially trained, compassionate leaders who create a safe, supportive environment and use science-based fitness games to work on kids’ emotional, physical, and mental skills.
