About
Arbutus Recreation & Parks Council Youth Programs offers a range of activities including Girl's Basketball, Boys' Basketball, Adult Basketball, AGAA Travel Basketball, Little League Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, Youth Football, and Youth Cheerleading. The program also includes Yoga, Badminton, a Therapeutic Camp, and child care programs at Halethorpe Elementary School and Arbutus Elementary School.

The Arbutus Recreation and Parks Council began in 1947 when the Arbutus Community Association created a committee to develop a recreation program for children in the community. After two years, this group became the Community Playground Recreation Association, Inc., later changing its name in 1960 to the Community Recreation Council, Inc. In January 1963, it became the Arbutus Recreation Council, Inc., and later adopted its current name, Arbutus Recreation and Parks Council. The Arbutus Recreation and Parks council is a community volunteer organization for the citizens of the Arbutus Community. Its stated mission is to be a community volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation of the environment and the development of recreational opportunities for the citizens of the Arbutus Community.
