IBIM Girls offers group mentoring and 1:1 mentoring along with leadership training for girls. The program includes health and fitness programs, business, finance and entrepreneurship programs, and a monthly community service project. Participants also spend time discussing the possibilities of a college education, visiting local colleges, receiving assistance with application submissions, and accessing scholarships for qualifying participants.
The mission of IBIM Girls is to become responsible, productive and successful members of our community. The program states a vision of a community in which every girl develops into their full potential, capable of making informed, responsible decisions as involved members of the community. Through mentorship, IBIM Girls focuses on nurturing girls’ goals, aspirations and ambitions while encouraging them to flourish into their full potential. IBIM Girls uses the B.E.L.I.E.V.E. theme (become emerging leaders inspiring excellence and values everyday) through group mentoring and leadership training. The program supports healthy lifestyles by offering health and fitness programs and campaigns against violence, drug abuse, alcohol abuse and sexual misbehavior among youth. It encourages money management and entrepreneurship through business, finance and entrepreneurship programs, and encourages post graduate education by discussing college options, visiting local colleges, assisting with application submissions and providing scholarships to qualifying participants. The program is based in Baltimore, MD and notes having community partners.
